Col. Anna Schulte, 403rd Maintenance Group commander, presents Hermis Plash with a token of appreciation for her dedication and commitment to obtaining the Wing's new paint booth. Plash, along with Chief Master Sgt. Vincent Armata started the process to obtain a new paint booth in 2000. The original paint booth was 27 years old and failed to meet requirements. In September 2010, the equipment was deemed non-operational and forced the Wing's structural shop to go on temporary duty to Duke Field in order to accomplish the required painting of landing gear rims, break housings, and nose landing gear tow fitting assemblies. The new paint booth not only eliminates the need to travel to Duke Field, it allows the Wing to meet corrosion contral requirements for over 200 pieces of aircraft support equipment.
