Pfc. Kenneth Sheffler, a watercraft engineer with the 411th Transportation Detachment, checks engine fluid levels of the Army Logistical Support Vessel five Maj. Gen. Charles P. Gross, during a transport mission in the Arabian Gulf 20 Jan., 2017. The crew hauled cargo to Qatar from Port of Shuaiba, Kuwait and transported another load during the return trip. While underway the crew practiced several maritime emergency exercises including man overboard, fire, and battle drills. The crew consisted of watercraft operators, engineers, cooks, and medics, although each member is trained to perform several tasks outside the scope of their duty specialty in case of an emergency situation.
