A recruit from Mike Company, 3rd Recruit Training Battalion, charges through an obstacle during the Bayonet Assault Course at Marine Corps Recruit Depot San Diego, Jan. 18. During the course, loud noises and gunfire were played over a loudspeaker to simulate a combat environment. Annually, more than 17,000 males recruited from the Western Recruiting Region are trained at MCRD San Diego. Mike Company is scheduled to graduate March 31.
