Sgt. Justin Weir, a Marine Corps Martial Arts Program green belt level instructor with the 24th Marine Expeditionary Unit aboard USS Mesa Verde (LPD 19), supervises as Marines execute techniques from the MCMAP tan belt syllabus on Jan. 24, 2017. MCMAP is a 5-belt level system composed of several martial art disciplines focusing on the enhancement of warfighters mentally and physically. The MEU is involved in Composite Training Unit Exercise, a compilation of training scenarios designed to solidify unit cohesion and refine operational efficiency prior to their upcoming deployment as an integrated unit.
