Officer Cristobal Perez with the Marine Corps Police Department, fires off a round during the Patrol Rifle Training Course held aboard Marine Corps Logistics Base Barstow, Calif., Jan. 17. Successful completion of the training will allow patrol officers to have the option of carrying a rifle during patrol, in addition to their usual firearm.
