Sgt. Kyle Schmidt, a gunner with 4th Stryker Brigade Combat Team, 2nd Infantry Division, and a Manchester, N.H., native, carries .50-caliber Browning machine gun ammunition to a turn-in point Aug. 15, upon completing a movement from Baghdad. The Stryker unit is the last combat brigade to leave the country helping to reach troop strength of 50,000 U.S. service members by Sep. 1 and the commencement of Operation New Dawn.
