Alaska Guardsmen tasked with supporting the 58th Presidential Inauguration receive a briefing from Maj. Gen. Laurie Hummel, the adjutant general, at the National Guard armory on Joint Base Elmendorf-Richardson, Alaska, Jan. 17, 2017. The 47 Guardsmen are from the Alaska Army National Guard’s 297th Regional Support Group, 297th Military Police Company and the Alaska Air National Guard’s 168th Wing Security Forces Squadron and 176th Wing SFS. The Guardsmen departed JBER for the National Capital Region, Jan. 18, 2017, where they will be charged with providing a safe and secure environment for civilians attending the inauguration.
