170110-N-TL304-081 OKINAWA, Japan (Jan. 10 2016) Builder 3rd Class Gregory Vanwinkle, left, and Builder 3rd Class Dylan Yates, right, assigned to Naval Mobile Construction Battalion (NMCB) 5, level and smooth concrete that was placed for a step during a concrete pad placement on White Beach located in Okinawa, Japan. The structure they are building will house a generator for the base fire department. NMCB 5 is the forward deployed Western Pacific NMCB ready to support Major Combat Operations, Humanitarian Assistance and Disaster Relief operations, and to provide general engineering and civil support to Navy, Marine Corps and joint operational forces. Homeported out of Port Hueneme, Calif., NMCB 5 has 12 detachment sites deployed throughout the United States and western Pacific area of operations.
