Family and friends wait on the pier as the guided-missile cruiser USS San Jacinto arrives at Naval Station Norfolk. San Jacinto is returning from a seven-month deployment to the U.S. 5th and 6th Fleet areas of responsibility. San Jacinto conducted counter-piracy operations, assisted two merchant ships with medical evacuations, and crew members completed six community relief events at schools and retirement homes. San Jacinto also participated in multi-national exercises with Australia, South Korea, Pakistan, Israel, Greece, Jordan and Great Britain.
