A member of the U.S. Special Operations Command Parachute Team parachutes into Raymond James Stadium with a (Clemson University/ University of Alabama) flag during the opening ceremony of the 2017 College National Playoff Championship Game held in Tampa, Fla., January 9th. U.S. Special Operations Command was recognized during the ceremony honoring its 30th anniversary. U.S. special operations forces are currently deployed to more than 97 countries worldwide, fulfilling geographic combatant requirements and supporting 10 named operations. USSOCOM supports a variety of missions ranging from working with indigenous forces and local governments to improve local security, to high-risk counterterrorism operations.
