DJIBOUTI (Dec. 8, 2016) U.S. Marine Sgt. Marc Resendez, a main battle tank repairer/technician with Combat Logistics Battalion 11, 11th Marine Expeditionary Unit (MEU), directs the driver of an M8A2 Hercules to lower the crane holding an I-beam during vehicle maintenance as part of Exercise Alligator Dagger Dec. 8. The I-beam provides multiple points of contact on large engines and enables maintenance Marines to pull extremely heavy parts out of tanks or any other vehicles. The unilateral exercise provides an opportunity for the Makin Island Amphibious Ready Group and 11th MEU to train in amphibious operations within the U.S. 5th Fleet area of operations. The 11th MEU is currently supporting U.S. 5th Fleet’s mission to promote and maintain stability and security in the region. (U.S. Marine Corps Photo by Lance Cpl. Zachery C. Laning)
