Service members participate in a wreath laying ceremony during the annual Wreaths Across America event at Miramar National Cemetery, San Diego, Calif., Dec. 17. Through Wreaths Across America, more than 1.2 million wreaths were placed in 1,228 cemeteries across the country. The mission of Wreaths Across America is to remember fallen U.S. troops, honor those who serve and teach new generations about the value of freedom through the service and sacrifice of veterans.
