ARTA BEACH, Djibouti (Dec. 9, 2016) U.S. Marine Cpl. Jarrett Ready, a towed artillery systems technician with Alpha Battery, Battalion Landing Team 1st Bn., 4th Marines, 11th Marine Expeditionary Unit (MEU), inspects the power condition control module on an M777A2 Howitzer during Exercise Alligator Dagger in Djibouti, Dec. 9. Weapon maintenance and inspections are essential to ensure the weapon system can be safely and effectively fired on target. The 11th MEU and Makin Island Amphibious Ready Group (ARG) are currently operating and exercising mission sets as an aggregated ARG/MEU for the first time during their Western Pacific 16-2 deployment.
