ARTA BEACH, DJIBOUTI (Dec. 12, 2016) U.S. Marine Cpl. Austin Bennett, a tank crewman with Tank Platoon, Battalion Landing Team 1st Bn., 4th Marines, 11th Marine Expeditionary Unit (MEU), refuels an M1A1 Main Battle Tank during Exercise Alligator Dagger Dec. 12. Tanks are valuable assets on the battlefield and can be used offensively and defensively. The unilateral exercise provides an opportunity for the Makin Island Amphibious Ready Group (ARG) and 11th MEU to train in amphibious operations within the U.S. 5th Fleet area of responsibility.
