161216-N-VI515-014 YOKOSUKA, Japan (Dec. 16, 2016) Seaman Trevor Winston, from Little Rock, Arkansas, uses a wire brush to scrub a brass vari-nozzle of an aqueous film forming foam (AFFF) station on a catwalk aboard the Navy's only forward-deployed aircraft carrier, USS Ronald Reagan (CVN 76). AFFF is a fire-fighting agent primarily used to extinguish fires involving flammable gases and liquids. Ronald Reagan, the flagship of Carrier Strike Group 5, provides a combat-ready force that protects and defends the collective maritime interests of its allies and partners in the Indo-Asia-Pacific region.
