NEWPORT NEWS, Va. (Dec. 07, 2016) -- Petty officer 3rd Class Select Samuel Michael, assigned to Pre-Commissioning Unit Gerald R. Ford (CVN 78), assembles a hacksaw during R-5 topside terminal maintenance training on the flight deck. This maintenance training teaches the Sailors how to detect zinc recession on terminals, a piece of equipment used to connect purchase cables, used to recover aircraft during flight operations.
