Castaneda and Sandoval, assigned to Detachment Delta, 4th Law Enforcement Battalion, and Shockey, who volunteered to help, traveled to Nikolai to deliver gifts for Alaskan children while participating in Toys for Tots. Toys for Tots is supported by the United States Marine Corps Reserve with a goal of delivering, through a new toy during the holiday season, a message of hope to youngsters that will assist them in becoming responsible, productive and patriotic citizens.
