ROTA, Spain (Dec. 8, 2016) Petty Officer 2nd Class Jahod Ross, from Irvington, N.J., performs maintenance on an MH-60R Sea Hawk helicopter of the Swamp Foxes of Helicopter Maritime Strike Squadron (HSM) 74 on the flight deck of the guided-missile destroyer USS Mason (DDG 87). Ross serves as an aviation machinist’s mate and is responsible for the maintenance and replacement of aircraft parts and accessories. Mason, deployed as part of the Eisenhower Carrier Strike Group, is conducting naval operations in the U.S. 6th Fleet area of operations in support of U.S. national security interests in Europe.
