Postal Marines perform a field training exercise Dec. 9, 2016 aboard Camp Hansen, Okinawa, Japan. The exercise forced the Marines to perform their jobs in a simulated deployed environment in order to enhance the postal skills of the Marines. Postal greatly enhances morale of troops in a deployed environment, according to Chief Warrant Officer Isaias G. Rodriguez, director of Consolidated Postal System, Marine Corps Installations Pacific-Marine Corps Base Camp Butler. “We have to be able to receive and send packages and letters efficiently,” said Rodriguez, a Sterling City, Texas, native. “If a Marine can’t communicate with his loved ones back at home, his mind isn’t going to be in the right place when it comes time to lock and load.” (U.S. Marine Corps Photo by Cpl.
