MEDITERRANEAN SEA (Dec. 1, 2016) Petty Officer 2nd Class Jalen McGraw, from Jefferson, Wisc., uses a sextant on the starboard bridge wing of the guided-missile destroyer USS Mason (DDG 87). McGraw works as a quartermaster and is responsible for the safe navigation of the ship. Mason, deployed as part of the Eisenhower Carrier Strike Group, is conducting naval operations in the U.S. 6th Fleet area of operations in support of U.S. national security interests in Europe.
