Petty Officer 3rd Class Kayla Kirk, assists with hospital corpsmen basic skill training as part of her duties currently assigned to Naval Hospital Bremerton. The Ben, Ore. native was recently recognized for her work as part of a Lean Six Sigma (LSS) team at U.S. Naval Academy that conducted a quality improvement project which not only effectively reduced time spent on providing vaccinations but lessened staffing needs and sped up the entire process for all patients involved. Kirk will also be frocked to petty officer second class on Dec. 2, 2016 (Official Navy photo by Douglas Stutz, NHB Public Affairs).
