Marines of Headquarters and Service Battalion grit their teeth at the tug-of-war competition during the Atlas Games at Marine Corps Recruit Depot San Diego, Nov. 22. Each side of the rope was allowed eight Marines to complete the challenge. The Atlas Games consisted of pull-ups, a three-mile run, tire flips, a simulated medical evacuation and a tug-of-war competition at the end of the games. Various units of the battalion competed for a 72-hour liberty period.
