Lance Cpl. Jess Wade, a combat engineer with Marine Wing Support Squadron 274, shovels dirt into a hole containing dynamite, July 18. Wade and his fellow engineers detonated 180 half-pound sticks of dynamite to cut through a six-foot bed of rock slowing the squadron's progress on a runway project. The squadron is building a new runway capable of accomodating KC-130 cargo aircraft.
