ARABIAN GULF (Nov. 25, 2016) Petty Officer 3rd Class Richard Weigel, from Fort Myers, Fla., inspects for corrosion on the canopy of an F/A-18F Super Hornet assigned to the Fighting Swordsmen of Strike Fighter Squadron (VFA) 32 in the hangar bay of the aircraft carrier USS Dwight D. Eisenhower (CVN 69) (Ike). Weigel serves aboard ike as an aviation structural mechanic and helps inspect, repair and maintain aircraft airframes. Ike and its Carrier Strike Group are deployed in support of Operation Inherent Resolve, maritime security operations and theater security cooperation efforts in the U.S. 5th Fleet area of operations.
