USS MAKIN ISLAND, Indian Ocean (November 24, 2016) Marines and Sailors with the Makin Island Amphibious Ready Group/11th Marine Expeditionary Unit run a five kilometer “Turkey Trot” on the flight deck of the USS Makin Island (LHD 8), Nov. 24, 2016. Turkey Trot runs are common on Thanksgiving throughout the United States and the Marines and Sailors of the ARG/MEU took that opportunity to burn some calories before their Thanksgiving meal later that day.
