Onboard USS Wasp, Petty Officer 3rd Class Rebecca Goodwin, a hull systems technician of Roswell, Ga., monitors a nitrogen tank used to test air pressure for calibrating gauges in the ship's calibration lab. Goodwin is a technician in Wasp’s calibration lab which has achieved a score of over 95 percent calibration rate of the ship's equipment for six consecutive months - one only four amphibious class ships fleet wide to accomplish the feat. Wasp, homeported in Norfolk, Va., is preparing for its Unit Level Training Assessment-Sustainment certification which tests the ship’s engineering, damage control, combat systems, aviation maintenance material management, seamanship, navigation and medical readiness.
