Onboard USS Wasp, Seaman Ryant Delossantos, a machinist mate fireman from Manila, Philippines, performs calibration of a micrometer tool in the ship's calibration lab. Delossantos is a technician in Wasp’s calibration lab which has achieved a score of over 95 percent calibration rate of the ship's equipment for six consecutive months – one of only four amphibious class ships fleet wide to accomplish the feat. Wasp, homeported in Norfolk, Va., is preparing for its Unit Level Training Assessment-Sustainment certification which tests the ship’s engineering, damage control, combat systems, aviation maintenance material management, seamanship, navigation and medical readiness.
