U.S. service members assigned to Combined Joint Task Force-Horn of Africa and volunteers proceed to a French Air Force CN-235 aircraft during a non-combatant evacuation exercise at the French Marine 5th Regiment in Djibouti, Djibouti, Nov. 16, 2016. Participants boarded the aircraft, simulated a flight, and then unloaded off the plane for the final portion of the exercise hosted by the French. Combined Joint Task Force-Horn of Africa is a multinational effort to conduct theater security cooperation, combat violent extremism and enable freedom of movement within East Africa in order to defend U.S. interests and support aligned regional efforts.
