U.S. service members assigned to Combined Joint Task Force-Horn of Africa Civil Affairs prepare to be searched by French military members during a non-combatant evacuation exercise (NEO) at the French Marine 5th Regiment in Djibouti, Djibouti, Nov. 16, 2016. The NEO exercise gave the French and their guests the opportunity to practice an evacuation with international partners. Combined Joint Task Force-Horn of Africa is a multinational effort to conduct theater security cooperation, combat violent extremism and enable freedom of movement within East Africa in order to defend U.S. interests and support aligned regional efforts.
