Keith Henry, commanding officer of Naval Air Facility (NAF) Misawa, right, awards Petty Officer 1st Class Alex Garado, assigned to NAF Misawa, from San Diego, Calif., the Navy and Marine Corps Achievement Medal in recognition of his outstanding accomplishments while serving as the enlisted quarters manager, command career counselor and assistant command fitness leader at Misawa Air Base, Japan. This is Garado’s fifth Navy and Marine Corps Achievement Medal that he has received during his career. Garado was also awarded the Military Outstanding Volunteer Service Medal for distinguished public service from Nov. 2013 to Aug. 2016 in recognition of the 536 off-duty hours he volunteered during community relations and morale-boosting events.
