BANGOR, Wash. – Clinton Shields a woodworker at the NAVSUP FLC Puget Sound Supply Support Department in Bangor, Wash., runs a sheet of corrugated cardboard through a HSM Profipack 425 cardboard shredder. The machine trims and perforates used cardboard boxes to create sheets of environmentally friendly packing material for shipping supplies, saving money and reducing the amount of plastic waste for ships and submarines at sea.
