161104-N-MB306-172 SAN DIEGO (Nov. 4, 2016) Lieutenants Elyse Mielnik, Beatriz Beach, Ashley Allison and Anya Kinoshita proudly show the patches they received upon graduating from the Naval Surface and Mine Warfighting Development Center’s (SMWDC) Warfare Tactics Instructor (WTI) course at Naval Base San Diego. The tactical quartet was four of 17 graduates from SMWDC’s second anti-submarine/anti-surface warfare WTI course. With the graduation, SMWDC now has more than 100 WTIs in the fleet raising the tactical proficiency of the Navy across three surface warfare disciplines: integrated air and missile defense, amphibious warfare, and anti-submarine/anti-surface warfare.
