PEARL HARBOR, Hawaii (October 19, 2016) – A Reconnaissance Marine with the Maritime Raid Force, 11th Marine Expeditionary Unit, provides cover for a teammate during a Visit, Board, Search, and Seizure team movement drill at Pearl Harbor, Oahu, Hawaii, Oct. 19, 2016. One of the Maritime Raid Force’s main capabilities is to conduct maritime interdiction operations, also known as Visit, Board, Search, and Seizures of uncooperative and potentially dangerous vessels while afloat during their Western Pacific 16-2 deployment to the Pacific and Central Commands’ areas of operations.
