USS MAKIN ISLAND, At Sea (October 28, 2016) – Marines with Company C, Battalion Landing Team 1st Battalion, 4th Marines board a CH-53E Super Stallion before a helo-borne raid during the 11th Marine Expeditionary Unit’s Hawaii sustainment training Oct. 20, 2016. During the raid, the Marines flew from the flight deck of the USS Makin Island (LHD 8) to Marine Corps Training Area Bellows, Oahu, Hawaii where they executed the raid.
