Many were gathered at the 3d Marine Aircraft Wing lawn aboard Marine Corps Air Station Miramar, Calif., Nov. 2 to celebrate the 241st birthday of the Marine Corps during a cake cutting ceremony. The theme of this year's birthday is "reunion"—a sense of staying connected with each other—connected with our history and those who came before us. No matter which era of battle Marines fought from World War II to Vietnam or Korea, Desert Storm or Desert Shield, operations Iraqi Freedom, Enduring Freedom or Inherent Resolve, Marines are thankful and proud of the legacy forged as they remain part of the Marine family.
