A U.S. Navy SH-60B Sea Hawk helicopter from the frigate USS Elrod hovers above a life raft while performing a search and rescue operation July 5. Elrod rescued 16 Pakistani mariners who were floating in a life raft after their fishing skiff sunk off the coast of the Horn of Africa. A Navy P-3C Orion aircraft spotted the life raft near debris while conducting a routine counter-piracy patrol in the Gulf of Aden.
