Vice President Joseph R. Biden Jr. and his wife, Dr. Jill Biden, congratulate a U.S. service member after becoming an American citizen. During a naturalization ceremony July 4 in Al Faw Palace at Camp Victory, Iraq, 156 service members from 56 countries became U.S. citizens. Lori Scialabba, associate director of U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services, administered the Oath of Citizenship. Gen. Raymond T. Odierno, USF-I commander, gave each new citizen his USF-I commanding general’s coin, and his senior enlisted advisor, Command Sgt. Maj. Lawrence Wilson, presented a U.S. flag to each service member.
