National Guard’s Detachment 1, Company H, 171st Aviation and Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission fly daily missions over the coastline and waters nearby to search for areas that are affected by the Mississippi Canyon oil spill. If product is spotted, it is documented by pictures encrypted with GPS that allows the exact location to be reported, which expedites the process of skimming and booming (photo and cutline by Spc.
