Sgt. Rico Rodriguez, A flight engineer with Florida National Guard’s Detachment 1, Company H, 171st Aviation, assists Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission with efforts to seek out, photograph and report product of the oil spill approaching the Gulf Shore coastline. Rodriguez’s unit provides air support with their C-23 "Sherpa" aircraft, flying along the coast and circling to locate product and expedite the efforts of skimming and booming along affected areas.
