Lt. Gen. Lawrence Nicholson, center right, introduces U.S. Ambassador to Japan Caroline Kennedy, during a working luncheon Oct. 28 aboard Camp Foster, Okinawa, Japan. The luncheon was one of the stops during Kennedy’s tour across the military installations on Okinawa which provided officers and senior enlisted service members the opportunity to ask questions regarding the alliance between the United States and Japan. During the question and answer session, senior ranking officials discussed methods and measures to improve the bilateral relationship between the United States and Japan. Nicholson is the commanding general of III Marine Expeditionary Force and the Okinawa Area Coordinator. (U.S. Marine Corps photo by Cpl. Janessa K. Pon)
