ARABIAN GULF (Oct. 26, 2016) Petty Officer 3rd Class Jason Barnes, from Tillmook, Ore., cleans off corrosion on the mounting brackets of the sonar receiver transmitter on an MH-60R Sea Hawk helicopter assigned to the Swamp Foxes of Helicopter Maritime Strike Squadron (HSM) 74 in the hangar bay the aircraft carrier USS Dwight D. Eisenhower (CVN 69) (Ike). Barnes serves aboard Ike as an aviation electronics technician and is responsible for inspecting and maintaining all the electrical system of the helicopter. Ike and its Carrier Strike Group are deployed in support of Operation Inherent Resolve, maritime security operations and theater security cooperation efforts in the U.S. 5th Fleet area of operations.
