ARABIAN GULF (Oct. 26, 2016) Petty Officer 3rd Class Cullen Kyser, left from Youngstown, Ohio, instructs Seaman Mathew McPhillips, from Dracut, Mass., on how to rig weld a water tight door in the machinery repair shop of the aircraft carrier USS Dwight D. Eisenhower (CVN 69) (Ike). Kyser and McPhillips serve aboard Ike as a hull maintenance technician and helps inspect, repair and maintain Ike's structural systems. Ike and its Carrier Strike Group are deployed in support of Operation Inherent Resolve, maritime security operations and theater security cooperation efforts in the U.S. 5th Fleet area of operations.
