ARABIAN GULF (Oct. 20, 2016) Petty Officer 3rd Class Clayton McDaniel, from Oakdale, Calif., conducts maintenance on a conveyor in the aviation intermediate maintenance department (AIMD) tunnel of the aircraft carrier USS Dwight D. Eisenhower (CVN 69) (Ike). McDaniel serves aboard Ike as a machinist's mate and helps inspect, repair and maintain Ike's mechanical systems. Ike and its Carrier Strike Group are deployed in support of Operation Inherent Resolve, maritime security operations and theater security cooperation efforts in the U.S. 5th Fleet area of operations.
