U.S. Army 1st Sgt. John Kearns, paratroopers assigned to the 173rd Airborne Brigade Support Battalion, 173rd Airborne Brigade, don their parachutes to Poland paratrooper from the 6th Airborne Brigade, at Aviano Air Base, Oct. 17, 2016, in preparation for airborne operations onto Juliet Drop Zone in Pordenone, Italy as a part of Peacemaster Unity training. Peacemaster Unity is Joint multinational readiness exercise including participation from 7 nations conducting missions across 3 countries, delivering over 2000 troops and 20 heavy drops. The 173rd Airborne Brigade is the U.S. Army Contingency Response Force in Europe, capable of projecting ready forces anywhere in the U.S. European, Africa or Central Commands' areas of responsibility within 18 hours.
