ARABIAN GULF (Oct. 15, 2016) Petty Officer 3rd Class Sarah Vigil observes an F/A-18F Super Hornet assigned to the Fighting Swordsmen of Strike Fighter Squadron (VFA) 32 as it makes an arresting landing on the flight deck of the aircraft carrier USS Dwight D. Eisenhower (CVN 69) (Ike). Vigil serves as an aviation boatswain's mate (equipment) aboard Ike and is responsible for the safe recovery of aircraft aboard the ship. Ike and its Carrier Strike Group are deployed in support of Operation Inherent Resolve, maritime security operations and theater security cooperation efforts in the U.S. 5th Fleet area of operations.
