Twenty feet of water covers Princeville, North Carolina, in the week following Hurricane Matthew, on October 15, 2016. This historic town saw similar flooding during Hurricane Floyd in 1999. The North Carolina National Guard is assisting in the aftermath of Hurricane Matthew by beginning pumping operations that will pump one million gallons of water an hour into the Tar River and away from Princeville.
