Marines with Companies B and C, 1st Reconnaissance Battalion, 1st Marine Division, board an MV-22B Osprey during a free-fall training aboard Camp Pendleton, Calif., Oct. 4, 2016. This training allows Marines to access environments unattainable to vehicles while providing minimal detection. 1st Marine Division is employed as the ground combat element of I Marine Expeditionary Force and provides the ground combat forces necessary for ship to shore forcible entry operations.
