ARABIAN GULF (Oct. 10, 2016) Petty Officer 3rd Class Travis Bates, left, and Seaman Edgar Franco construct ordnance in the bomb assembly magazine of the aircraft carrier USS Dwight D. Eisenhower (CVN 69) (Ike). Bates and Franco serve as aviation ordnancemen aboard Ike and are responsible for building and transporting ordnance. Ike and its Carrier Strike Group are deployed in support of Operation Inherent Resolve, maritime security operations and theater security cooperation efforts in the U.S. 5th Fleet area of operations.
