    Service members from Joint Task Force Matthew and representatives from the United States Agency for International Development deliver relief supplies to Jeremie, Haiti, Oct. 7, 2016. JTF Matthew, a U.S. Southern Command-directed response team deployed to support U.S. disaster relief operations in the Caribbean in response to Hurricane Matthew, delivered more than 10,000 pounds of supplies on its first day of operations. JTF Matthew was a U.S. Southern Command lead humanitarian assistance, disaster relief effort in Haiti following Hurricane Matthew. Matthew was a category 4 hurricane that formed in the Western Atlantic Ocean and affected Haiti, eastern Cuba, and the Bahamas before moving up the southeast coast of the United States.
