FORT CARSON, Colo— Maj. Gen. Ryan F. Gonsalves, commanding general, 4th Infantry Division and Fort Carson, awards Staff Sgt. Shavaar Cochran, advanced culinary noncommissioned officer, 32nd Composite Truck Company, 68th Combat Sustainment Support Battalion, 4th Sustainment Brigade, 4th Inf. Div. with a Philip A. Connelly award on behalf of his team, Sept. 28, and praised for his individual merits for his role as shift leader in the Phillip A. Connelly Cup Competition. Cochran led a 12-man team, made up of culinary specialists from 4th Sustainment Brigade and 4th Engineer Battalion, placing second in the garrison kitchen category among all dining facilities at Fort Carson in the prestigious annual competition.
